Instant quotes for laser, plasma and waterjet shops
Your price, on your website, while you sleep.
Kerfrate is a planned quote widget for small cutting job shops. Your customers upload a DXF and see a price worked out from your own rates. You get a qualified lead with the file attached. You can set it up in an afternoon with no sales contract, at one flat price per shop.
The quoting problem in a small shop
RFQs eat your evenings
Every request means opening the DXF, measuring cut length, estimating time, looking up material and writing back. The customer waits while you do it.
Customer DXFs are messy
Missing units, dimensions on the cut layer, open contours, duplicate lines, text that was never exploded. A naive calculator prices these wrong.
Existing tools are built for bigger shops
Instant-quote platforms tend to be sold through sales calls and annual contracts, or priced per user. A three-person shop needs something smaller.
How it will work
Four steps from upload to lead. The arithmetic is deterministic: the same file and the same rates always give the same price.
- 1
Your customer uploads a DXF
On your own website, through a small widget you paste in once. They pick material, thickness and quantity. - 2
The drawing is measured
Units are checked, dimension and title-block layers are set aside, and contours are chained. Then cut length, pierce count, part size and net area are measured. - 3
Your rates are applied
Material cost, cut time from your speed table, pierces, setup, margin, minimum charge and quantity breaks. All numbers come from you. - 4
You get the lead
The customer sees a price and a quote PDF. You get an email with their file, the geometry report and the quote.
Built for the way you already price
Calibrate to your past quotes
Planned: enter at least three parts you already quoted and the price you charged. Kerfrate fits a rate factor and margin to them, and shows how close the fit is, so you can judge it yourself.
A sandbox before you go live
Planned: a free sandbox with the full dashboard and a test widget, so you can check quotes against your own numbers before any customer sees one.
A fallback for bad files
Planned: when a file can't be priced safely, the customer is asked to send it for a manual quote. You still get the lead.
Your checkout, not ours
Kerfrate will never take payments for your jobs. An optional order button can link to your own payment page.
